Kafenes Cafe Restaurant

Fine dining may have a lot going for it, but there are some things you just don’t get from a restaurant once you head upwards from a particular price point.

Any good fine dining restaurant will generally tick off all the right boxes on your visit – good ambiance, timely service, impeccable presentation, attentive staff, great wine list, and of course a very tasty and/or inventive meal.

But there’s still one aspect that you never get out of the experience: that sense of having “a local”, being part of the family, or that unpolished authenticity you just can’t fake no matter how many dollars you throw at it.

Kafenes Cafe Restaurant in order viagra Enmore is one of those places.

We’ve got these very-foodie-friends who used to live around the corner on King Street who swear by this place.

They were in there all the time, and even soft tab cialis to this day are practically family there, so it was no surprise that upon booking a table ofr two there last Saturday, they were (quite randomly) the first faces we saw there as we arrived.

Kafenes is one of those places where it’s practically impossible to not fill cialis buy cialis pills how it works up the table with a serious amount of very delicious meat, fish and cooked cheese.  The servings are more than generous (even by normal big-eating Greek restaurant standards!), and while I’ve tried at least half the things buy levitra online on the menu now in my four visits there, am yet to find something there on the menu I’m not feeling hungry again now recalling.

Dishes like Stamnato I tried the other night – a juicy home-style lamb dish served cheap pills in a clay pot, filled to overflowing with a huge chunk of falling-off-the-bone lamb, chunky roast buy viagra online potatoes and tomatoes, all covered in a combination of baked Greek cheeses. Honestly, I could’ve kept going and going. Our Kafenes-veteran paracetamol buddies across the table (who’d pointed out the Stamnato as being one of the best) launched into a whole Snapper on a plate, and after digging into it myself, will definitely be heading down that path next time around.

On a previous occasion I was completely defeated by their $30 Mixed Grill for One. Lamb, beef & pork chops, lamb & chicken souvlakia and loukanika all piled onto the one plate. Smelled like heaven, tasted sublime, but at the point where I started needing to undo my belt and sit back, done, I looked down and felt like I was only half-way to the bottom of the plate.

What you get there is that feeling of authenticity. Not just in the very solid Greek home-style cooking

they serve up, but in the staff that serve you and the atmosphere the whole place creates. There was clearly some kind of issue somewhere out back on this latest visit and we did experience some delays, but for me that just became another excuse to pour an extra glass of wine and kick back for some more conversation and the uncommonly interesting people-watching buy generic viagra viagra | buy cialis domain | buy generic levitra online experience you get sitting at an outdoor table on Enmore Road on a Saturday night.

One thing : it may be hard to achieve given the quality and size of the lamb dishes, but you do need to stay for dessert.

I’ve tried pretty much everything on the dessert menu now, and there’s nothing I wouldn’t go back for thirds on, if that were ever possible there. My wife simply won’t budge from the amazing Baklava (… fair enough really) whenever we’ve gone there, though having flitted from dessert to dessert myself (as well as throwing my fork into every other plate at the table), I can easily say if you’ re a sweet-tooth, you can pick anything at random, grab a G

reek coffee, and still come up with a huge smile on your face at the end.

For what you get, the prices are pretty good. I already mentioned the “it destroyed me” mixed grill for $30, and that’s about the most expensive thing there. We walked away, 3 courses down, for about $50 each the other night, and it gets even cheaper (and voluminous) if you give some of their banquet deals a try.

The only thing I’d perhaps warn about was that yes, they do claim to have some vegetarian options, but when we did go there with a full vego a while back, his options were quite limited (though still catered for well enough by the staff).

Sure, it gets a bit crowded and chaotic at Kafenes, but from the first bite you can tell right away that there are people in that kitchen that love their food and want to pass that onto you in every sizzling haloumi-encrusted plate. You can whip your credit card out at any 5-star kamagra buy place in Sydney and get a far more polished experience, but you miss out on that personal touch and the family buy viagra online discount vibe that places like Kafenes have, which money simply can’t buy.
